A Tui Tea Party

With the continuing warm weather we thought it was high time for a tea party outside. The table was set up, the jugs of water were full, and the Tui's arrived. The table was a hive of activity with the children involved in some awesome group play. They were tipping, pouring, drinking, chatting, sharing, and helping each other. It was a wonderfully busy morning. It is so cool to see the cooperation skills of the children at work; keep it up Tui's!!!

Watching the World

Our fence is the perfect viewing point for anything happening out on the road; the children love to stop and check out the sights.

Today the excitement was over some road works; we were able to see the digger, the roller, and lots of workmen hard at work.

This created lots of great discussions amongst the children.

We love to keep up to date with the events in the community and our fence is a good place to start.

Lending a Helping Hand

It was wonderful to see the Tui children lending a helping hand to their friends today. We have such an awesome team here in the Tui Room; the children are great at working together and this is such a cool example. You go guys, and keep up the great helping!!!!

Mr. Sun.............Please shine down on me!

What a beautiful, sunny day we had today in the lovely Hawke's Bay. The Tuis took pleasure in it and definitely made the most of it, by enjoying some quality reading time, sitting on cushions in the sun. It is great to be able to develop our literacy skills while enjoying the great outdoors and it was awesome to see the children reading to themselves and to each other.
Roll on summer when we can do this every day.

Our Village Kids Builders

Our Tui’s have been busy little builders lately. They have a shared interest in the play tools, as well as the real tools, using the saws, hammers and screw drivers. They love to build and will find anything that is ‘broken’ so they can fix it.

It is awesome to see the Tui’s working collaboratively together, building and fixing and making lots of noise. It is great to see their coordination developing through using the hammer and putting the screwdriver into a hole. Not only are the boys having a blast, the girls are joining in and exploring as well. The children like to use the play tools but getting out the real tools and hammering nails into the wood is a truly exciting experience.

Bob and Wendy, watch out for your jobs because we have some very talented builders here at Village Kids.
